KATERINA DOUKANARI | ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Katerina Doukanari was born and raised in Larnaca. From a young age she realized that dance is what she was meant to do. After she graduated from high school, she entered the “Rallou Manou Professional Private School of Dance” in Athens where she gained her degree as a Dance Teacher with honours.
During her studies in Athens, she was selected to act as a priestess in the lighting of the Olympic Torch ceremony in Ancient Olympia for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Developing her skills, knowledge and teaching in dancing was always a priority for her both during and after her studies. Therefore,she attended many seminars and workshops in Cyprus and abroad.
In 2012, she worked as a trainee Dance teacher at “Rallou Manou” Higher Professional Private School of Dance. In the same year, she travelled to Budapest to attend a three month intensive training with “Budapest Dance Theatre” in ballet, contemporary and modern art jazz under the guidance of the artistic director Foldi Bela. She also worked in various dance schools in Cyprus.
In 2013, she moved to Australia where she continued her professional training with Chunky Move Dance Company under the guidance of the artistic director Anouk Van Dijk and participated in the very well known production of Lucy Guerin “Groupness” by Becky Hilton.
From 2015 she is a member of the Russian Ballet Society with a Diploma in Dance Teaching where she passed the examinations with Honours with Distinction.
After many years of practise and education, she decided to convey her passion and knowledge to others; to make her dream a reality and create her very own dance school, the Mon Ballet School.
